The name of our city that first appeared in history is Michuhol
Michuhol refers to the Michuhol kingdom of Biryu at the time of the establishment of Beakje.
However, Michuhole which appeared as an administrative district was under the rule of King Jangsu (413-491) of Goguryeo when it occupied the Han River basin
It belonged to the Yuljin-gun (Gwacheon) during the rule of King Gyeongdeok at the time of the Unified Silla Dynasty and it became part of Soseong-hyeon, Suju (樹州=Bupyeong), Gyeongwon-gun, Inju, Gyeongwon-bu, etc. during the Goryeo Dynasty. In the 13th year of the reign of King Taejong of Joseon, it turned into Incheon-gun with the regional system reorganization, finally the name Incheon (仁川) was adopted.
